Children’s Comprehensive Health Screening
What Is This Screening For?
Our children’s health screening is designed for parents who want reassurance about their child’s overall wellbeing. It looks for common hidden causes of tiredness, poor growth, tummy pains, or general ill-health — even when symptoms are mild or absent.
What Does the Screening Include?
We offer a gentle, thorough assessment that may include:
- Blood tests – to check for anaemia, thyroid function, vitamin D, Vit B12, and folate kidney function, glucose, liver function, basic immunity, inflammatory markers, coeliac disease, pancreatitis, vitamins, haemoglobinopathy and mineral deficiencies
- Stool tests – to assess fat malabsorption, leaky gut, bowel inflammation and Helicobacter Pylori infection
- Urine tests – to check kidney status, urine infection
- Abdominal ultrasound scan – to visualise the liver, spleen, pancreas, gall bladder, kidney and digestive system
- Breath tests – to check for sugar intolerances (such as lactose/fructose/sucrose intolerances) and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
- Fasting lipid profile - this is indicated if there is a family history of hypercholesterolemia or your child is overweight
What Conditions Can This Help Detect or Exclude?
This screening can help rule out:
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
- Coeliac disease
- Bone health
- Diabetes
- Underactive or hyperactive thyroid gland
- Pancreatitis
- Helicobacter pylori gastritis
- Growth or nutritional problems (vitamin D, iron, B12, folate deficiencies)
- Immediate food allergies and sugar intolerances
- Liver and kidney impairments
- Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth
- Haemoglobinopathy
Why Is It Helpful?
Many childhood conditions develop slowly and are easy to overlook. Early testing provides peace of mind and allows early treatment if anything unusual is found. Even when results are normal, parents often find reassurance in knowing their child’s health has been carefully checked.
What Happens Next?
Results are reviewed by a paediatrician, who will discuss the findings with you and explain any next steps if needed. The consultation is free. Most children have normal results and need no further investigations. We will also communicate the results to your child’s GP.
